My 12yr old son and I spent 2 days hiking under the guidance of Olivier.

One of the most genuine people I have ever met and we felt comfortable with him from the start.

A great attitude, extremely capable, modest, humble and a true example of someone who is living their dream and wanting to share his experience and knowledge with others who want to sample, explore or challenge themselves in this environment without the bravado.

Thank you Olivier for helping create this lifetime memory with my son.

Why hike with EMOTION ALPINE?

To explore and discover the mountain, let yourself be guided by the expertise of a professional.

EMOTION ALPINE is all about ensuring you have the best possible experience. Safety, attentive listening, knowledge sharing, and of course, in-depth expertise in the mountain range allow us to help you discover landscapes that evoke powerful emotions.

Why hike in Chamonix?

Chamonix Mont-Blanc is the meeting of a History (note the capital H), landscapes that challenge you like you will rarely have the opportunity to see and a rich biodiversity.

From the foothills of Mont Blanc to the Aiguilles Rouges, passing through the still preserved Fiz massif or the Tré les Eaux valley, the options are almost endless.

Trekking or Hiking?

We call day trips "hiking", while "trekking" refers to multi-day treks across the mountains.

What are the prices?

The daily rate for a hike starts at €250 for a group.

For trekking, it is necessary to establish a quote which will depend, among other things, on the mountain range chosen, the mountain huts, the number of people, etc.

What are the most beautiful hiking and trekking routes around Chamonix ?

For day hikes:

Crossing the North Balcony ->

A balcony route between Plan de l'Aiguille (Aiguille du Midi intermediate station) and Montenvers - Mer de Glace. Accessible by ski lifts, it doesn't require a high level of fitness, but includes a few easy sections.

This route is among the most beautiful in the Alps (no less!), but in the height of summer, expect to be crowded. The trick? Go for sunset, but in that case, you'll have to forgo the ski lifts and do part of the descent in the dark, by headlamp.

Bonus: Take a detour to Signal Forbes, from where you can admire some iconic mountaineering peaks: Les Drus, the Grandes Jorasses and of course the Mer de Glace.

Les chalets de Chailloux ->

Easily accessible from Merlet Park, with a 500m elevation gain on easy trails, you'll discover an alpine pasture offering one of the best views of Mont Blanc. The perfect spot to relax up there with a picnic, or to combine with a visit to the Merlet Wildlife Park.

Mont Buet (3096m!) ->

For experienced hikers! Also known as the "Ladies' Mont Blanc" by our somewhat misogynistic ancestors. Because it presents a challenge, while being more accessible than Mont Blanc.

Several options exist to reach the summit but the simplest is to start from the village of Buet before Vallorcine and pass through the Bérard valley and the refuge of the same name.

Spoiler alert: The view from the top is lunar... Just like the terrain!

For multi-day treks:

The Tour du Mont-Blanc, obviously!

It's one of the most famous trekking routes in the world. And for good reason: it involves circumnavigating the highest peak in the Alps; the landscapes and the adventure will leave a lasting impression. The entire circuit is 160km long with nearly 10,000m of elevation gain and generally takes about ten days.

During the UTMB, the best trail runners complete the course in... 20 hours!

However, the route is EXTREMELY busy and booking the refuges can quickly become a headache.

The trick: Go through a professional guide (such as EMOTION ALPINE, obviously) to avoid this logistical inconvenience and find the best alternatives.

The Tour des Aiguilles Rouges ->

The Aiguilles Rouges are located north of Chamonix and Mont Blanc, in the same valley. It is a massif of contrasts, with ski resorts on the sunny side and a wild mountain to the north where one can quickly become isolated.

The Aiguilles Rouges circuit is usually done in 3 days, with nights spent in mountain huts. The route avoids ski resorts to focus on the essentials: nature and views of Mont Blanc.
There are many variations, including the ascent of Mont Buet.

The Tour des Fiz ->

The Fiz are a limestone massif wrongly neglected by tourists who prefer to focus on the areas around Chamonix. Yet, they are a real gem for anyone who takes the time to explore them.

From lakes and waterfalls to gigantic cliffs reminiscent of the Dolomites, the Fiz mountains are truly breathtaking. Several options are available, but the "classic" tour covers approximately 35km and 2200m of elevation gain, taking 2 to 3 days to hike.
