Typical itinerary for an intense trail running weekend in Chamonix

Trail facing the Mont Blanc massif

Day 1:

Meet in Chamonix , the trail running capital, for a long day of running in the mountains . We might, for example, traverse the Aiguilles Rouges massif, facing Mont Blanc and its glaciers. This day will be an opportunity to discuss various topics such as training planning for trail running , equipment management, etc., and to learn more about the mountain environment.

Day 2 :

Another day of climbing through the Mont Blanc massif. We will take the opportunity to explore legendary trails, such as the balconies above the Mer de Glace , or part of the routes of the biggest races of the UTMB .
Example route : From Argentière, Aiguillette des Posettes, then Balcons Nord via the Chapeau refreshment stand...

Info

For this trail running course in Chamonix, I'm not proposing a specific route in advance. The idea is to take advantage of the free transport in the Chamonix Valley and adapt each day to discover the most beautiful route possible, taking into account the constraints of the natural environment.

Olivier impressed me, among other things, with his professionalism, his ability to assess each participant's level, and to adapt the content appropriately when needed. But above all, it was his good humor and his genuine pleasure in sharing his knowledge and being there that I think brought joy to so many participants this year. This approachable manner never detracted from his role as an instructor and contributed to the positive atmosphere. I highly recommend him!
